MedHost EDIS receives CCHIT certification
The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) has certified MedHost's product, MedHost emergency department information system (EDIS) version 4.2, as a CCHIT Certified 08 emergency department EHR.
The Addison, Texas-based Medhost said its EDIS reduces medical errors, increases patient throughput, produces higher patient satisfaction scores and maximizes revenue. The company said its product has touch-screen navigation, IV infusion logic, risk alerts and an administrative ToolKit application that allows for changes to the software.
The CCHIT is a private non-profit organization recognized by the federal government as an official certification body for healthcare IT products. CCHIT Certified product certification designates that a healthcare IT product has been tested against a set of functionality, interoperability and security criteria and has passed inspection of 100 percent of the criteria.
