Lightlab, GE form cardiac imaging alliance
LightLab Imaging, an optical imaging developer, and GE Healthcare have formed a collaboration to improve workflow between GE's Innova cardiovascular x-ray system and LightLab's C7-XR optical coherence tomography (OCT) system.
Cardiologists in the cardiac cath lab use the Innova x-ray imaging systems when performing procedures to view and treat potential coronary artery blockages, according to GE. The Westford, Mass.-based LightLab's OCT system, the C7-XR, can be installed in the cardiac cath lab or radiology suite alongside GE Innova x-ray system, enabling physicians to incorporate OCT technology into their procedures, according to LightLab.
The LightLab C7-XR is available for purchase in 20 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America, the firm said.
