Hitachi scores MRI orders with Tennessee GPO
Hitachi Medical Systems America has been awarded a contract by HealthTrust Purchasing Group for MRI products, including its Oasis 1.2T High-Field Open MRI and Echelon XL/XLS 1.5T short-bore MRI.

The Cleveland-based company said its Echelon XL/XLS 1.5T short-bore MRI, available in either 8- or 16-channel RF configuration, is the short-bore scanner, which allows all exams, including brain scans, to be performed with the patient entering the scanner feet first. Hitachi also said its Oasis combines patient comfort with power that is boosted by anatomically-specific receiver coils that allow imaging applications ranging from vascular to orthopedic to women's health.

HealthTrust Purchasing Group, based in Brentwood, Tenn., is a group purchasing organization (GPO) that supports nearly 1,400 not-for-profit and for-profit acute-care facilities, as well as ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices and alternate-care sites.
