Viztek, a radiology solutions provider, has installed its Opal-Ortho PACS and a U-Arm DR at Orthopedic Specialists of St. Louis.

Orthopedic Specialists is a multi-specialty orthopedic practice, which used film for its radiology needs before switching to digital imaging with Viztek.

The Jacksonville, Fla.-based Viztek said its Opal-Ortho PACS was installed with orthopedic templating and orthopedic tools. With the new product, x-rays are transferred digitally from the Viztek DR system to its workstation, and then sent from the DR workstation to the Opal-Ortho PACS, where the patient files are stored. From there, the images can be sent to the referring physician via the Internet or burned to a CD. Physicians can then securely access patient data from any Web-enabled PC, according to the company
