SIIM: DR Systems exhibits new RIS/PACS release

DR Systems is exhibiting release 8.2 of its Unity RIS/PACS platform at the 2009 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) conference this week in Charlotte, N.C.

The San Diego-based company said the new application capabilities in release 8.2 include:

• Unity access via enterprise-based and physician office EMRs: Accessing through a Web browser to the EMR allows for clinical review of exam reports, images and voice clips along with other patient information.
• DICOM Structured Reports: Captures DICOM data such as ultrasound measurements from the modality and transfers it to the exam report.
• Critical Results: Tracks critical values and tests. Audits timeliness of reporting results to responsible caregivers.
• Peer Review: Evaluates prior exam reports and diagnoses completed by other physicians in the practice.
• Multiple Volume Support: Provides system scalability while increasing data safety, configuration flexibility and system availability.
• Enhanced Sentinel Capabilities: Sentinel monitors the performance of the RIS/PACS application, as well as workflow activities.
